The couple would spend $30,000 in just one night.

Tatyana Natasha Remley, 43, stood before a judge last Thursday, December 28 and admitted that she tried to hire a hitman to kill her husband and that she possessed a concealed, loaded firearm that was not registered to her. 

Tatyana Remley was immediately sentenced to three years, eight months in California state prison by Judge David Danielsen. 

Mark Remley: “I’m going to be looking over my shoulder the rest of my life.”

Mrs. Remley’s 57-year-old husband Mark Remley, who survived his wife's plans, was seated in the courtroom gallery to hear the public confession and the terms of her plea deal. 

Before the sentence was announced, Mark Remley stepped forward to speak to the judge. Mark Remley spoke of how their relationship began with such love, and then degraded to intentions of murder.

“How can I ever trust again?” Mark Remley asked. “I’m going to be looking over my shoulder the rest of my life,” he told the judge. Mark Remley said his wife became “dark” and “I wish I could have done something to help her.”

Last summer, on August 31, San Diego County Sheriff issued a press release stating that deputies were called to the Remleys' home in Del Mar on July 2 because it was on fire. Deputies found that Tatyana “was in possession of three firearms and ammunition.” Deputies arrested Tatyana that night. “The cause of the fire remains under investigation,” the sheriff declared. 

The day after the fire, on July 3, deputies opened an investigation because they got a tip that Tatyana was trying to hire someone to kill her husband.

“On August 2, Tatyana Remley met with an undercover sheriff’s detective. She provided detailed information on how she wanted her husband killed and his body disposed. (Tatyana) Remley brought three additional firearms and U.S. currency as a down payment for the murder. (Tatyana) Remley was arrested and booked into the Vista detention facility (local jail),” the sheriff declared in a statement.

Since the day she met with the undercover detective, Tatyana Remley has been in custody at Las Colinas women’s jail, in Santee. At her sentencing Thursday, Tatyana got 297 days “custody credits” (149 actual days + 148 “good conduct” credits).

At the end of the court hearing Thursday, December 28, the judge issued two protective orders, intended to prevent Tatyana from trying to contact or approach Mark Remley and/or a man named Garret Winne. A reliable source stated that Winne was approached by Tatyana and was solicited to kill Mark. Winne then warned the husband.

Court records show that Mark Remley and Tatyana were married on March 18, 2011. Just days before their first-year anniversary, on March 15, 2012, Mark filed for dissolution of this marriage. Within seven months, Tatyana signed a “post-nuptial agreement,” and Mark’s dissolution request was dismissed.

Mark and Tatyana have each filed for “dissolution of marriage” in San Diego County repeatedly over the years, since their marriage in 2011; each request was “dismissed,” and then revived again later. They are still married at this time.

Mark and Tatyana had previous marriages. In the year 2003, when she was 23, Tatyana was married to a man who now lives in Seattle, Washington; they have an  adult son together. This son is reportedly disabled and in October of 2023, Tatyana’s ex-husband won a $137,713 judgment against Tatyana for unpaid-back-child support, this according to court records. This previous husband might have a lien against the Hawaiian home that Tatyana Remley reportedly owns with current husband Mark.

Mark and Tatyana Remley became notorious in San Diego County in the year 2012 after they created a traveling, big-tent horse-show extravaganza they named VALITAR. This spectacle shut down after just one or two shows at the Del Mar fairgrounds, according to local news reports. Tatyana later stated in court papers: “This business has since gone under but while it was running, it made $20,000 per night and was valued at $11 million.” 

Early the next year, in February of 2013, Mark Remley and Tatyana bought a home in Hawaii as joint tenants, Tatyana later said this was to escape the notoriety of their failed horse show in California; that failed venture allegedly left certain accounts unpaid. According to recent statements in court files, Tatyana’s mother and grandmother were staying in the Remley’s Hawaii home, it is unclear if they are still there.

It appears that Mark and Tatyana enjoyed their stay in Hawaii for about one year.

In January of 2014, Mark and Tatyana returned to San Diego County. At that time Tatyana started a new business, a cycling studio called Rhythm and Power in Solana Beach. This venture failed in about one year, Tatyana later claimed, “it (the cycling business) was valued at $1.5 million.”

On October 14, 2015,  says Tatyana in one of her court filings, Mark Remley told Tatyana by text message to leave his home in Coronado. A few days later, on October 19, 2015, Tatyana filed for dissolution of marriage against Mark, in which she complained that Mark removed all the money from their joint savings account. This dissolution of marriage case was later dismissed.

On January 7, 2023, the old divorce case that Mark Remley had filed in March 2012 against Tatyana was revived.

In May of 2023, Tatyana filed again for divorce or “dissolution of marriage” against Mark Remley. By this time they had been married more than 12 years. The couple had no children together, although they both have adult children from prior relationships.

Tatyana checked the box for “irreconcilable differences.” Her most recent dissolution request was filed in San Diego’s downtown courthouse. These are some statements from that filing:

“She wants financial support to maintain the marital standard of living….she was accustomed to monthly expenses well over $50,000.” These statements are found in the divorce paperwork. “Some nights, the (couple) would spend $30,000 in just one night, they had body guards and a personal assistant as well as weekly drivers…The parties frequently engaged in high end shopping and dining and went on luxury cruises. (Tatyana) had access to an unlimited credit card and investment accounts.”

Tatyana complained that Mark stopped paying the bills at their Hawaiian home.

“Respondent (husband Mark) does not have any needs. He continues to live the lavish lifestyle the parties maintained during marriage.” Tatyana claimed that husband Mark has: “Over $8 million in assets, without any debts or mortgages. Easily able to be disbursed. UBS investment accounts.” Tatyana claimed Mark owns three Rolls Royces, worth $1.3 million.

Tatyana asked for exclusive use of their home in Del Mar, which she stated is worth more than $5 million. (The home is located at 4647 Rancho Reposo.)

Tatyana asked for exclusive use of the Dodge Ram 3500 dually truck, the Ford Platinum 4500 dually truck, the Lakota Bighorn living quarters horse trailer, and a Kubota 2012 ATV.  She specifically asked to keep three named parrots, and three named “silkie fainting goats.”

In her last divorce request, Tatyana asked for $15,000 per month “interim support” so she can “maintain.”
